Actress Carla Abellana has no regrets that her screen partner Geoff Eigenmann was not cast in her first movie, "Mamarazzi."
"Okay [lang] naman. Kasi ang alam ko, si Ahron (Villena) ang nakakuha ng role na 'yon. Napakahusay ni Ahron, nagampanan niya nang maayos 'yung role. Okay naman hindi naman ako nalungkot," Carla said in an interview.
The actress explained why Geoff backed out of the movie.
"Kasi at that time his manager was not in the country so hindi na-relay kaagad sa kanya 'yung offer na gawin 'yung 'Mamarazzi.' To my knowledge, kinulang siya ng oras para pag-isipan 'yung movie. Eh, kinailangan na naming mag-start mag-shooting at that time so, he chose to turn it down na lang."
Still, she looks forward to working with her "Rosalinda" leading man in a movie.
"Puwede, maganda 'yon if we could work for a movie for a change," she said.
Working in a comedy film is a big challenge for Carla, saying it's no big departure from what she does on television.
"Mahirap ang comedy kaysa sa drama [pero] buti na lang 'yung character ko sa movie, eh, umiiyak pa rin, very dramatic pa rin ang dating niya. Hindi ko naman kinailangang mag-shift ng napakalaki for the movie dahil sa movie na ito [ay] aspiring actress ako so umiiyak pa rin ako. 'Di ba sanay akong magpaiyak? This time magpapatawa kami. Magandang experience, eh. Very light lang on my part," she said.
In "Mamarazzi," Carla is afforded the chance to work with stars from the Kapamilya network like Andi Eigenmann, cousin of her rumored boyfriend Geoff.
The experience, she says, is overwhelming
"Masaya siya kasi on the set we get to talk and share your different experiences.....kung paano sa network mo, ise-share mo sa kanila. Magandang opportunity na pinagsama-sama talaga kami ng Regal."
She said the network wars that inadvertently involve the stars do not get in the way of work.
"At the end of the day, you realize na pare-pareho lang naman kayo....With how hard you work, how heavy and stressful you work can get, pare-pareho lang naman 'yan eh. Kahit sabihin mong magkahiwalay kami ng network, 'yong mga experiences naming bilang artista, pareho."
